Darren Lewey

I'm a tour leader running workshops in Morocco & Spain. I graduated with a degree in Photographic Studies from Derby College in 1992 before directing documentaries and programmes for UK TV. Most of the images here were made between July 2016 - November 2018. My main aim during this period was compositional consistency within selected locations.

In 2019 I shifted emphasis to a less idealised view, primarily looking at social landscapes shaped by human presence located within Morocco. My first, using a 5x4 camera and film, looks at salt production. You can view this gallery and other new ongoing projects at the website here.

I’m also the founder of an online photography school which includes location workshops and retreats: Creative Camera.

“Why is Form beautiful? Because, I think, it helps us confront our worst fear, the suspicion that life may be chaos and that therefore our suffering is without meaning.” – Robert Adams
